High School Students Collect Water Bugs as Part of Lower Fox River Water Monitoring Program

On Sept. 23, 2025, nearly 200 Green Bay East High School biology students explored Baird Creek in search of macroinvertebrates. They learned about biotic indexes and how water bugs can tell you about water quality.

Their field trip was part of the ongoing Lower Fox River Water Monitoring Program run by UW-Green Bay and supported by the Freshwater Collaborative.
